Requirements effective March 4, 2019
API will begin to audit API Specification Q1 9th Edition to Addendum 2 requirements effective March 4, 2019.
Additionally, API Specification Q1 9th Edition Addendum 2, Specification for Quality Management System Requirements for Manufacturing Organizations for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry, will be effective June 1, 2019. This Addendum represents a change in Supply Chain requirements as it applies to the oil and gas industry.
Accordingly, API has developed the following plan to transition participants in the API Monogram and APIQR Programs with the scope now including both Addendum 1 and Addendum 2:
March 4, 2019 to May 31, 2019 API will conduct all audits to API Specification Q1 9th edition including Addendum 2, however, any findings raised against new requirements will be categorized as “Concerns” and no additional follow-up will be required regarding the status of corrective action on those findings.
June 1, 2019 All API Monogram Licensees and APIQR Specification Q1 registered Organizations must conform to the requirements of API Spec Q1, 9th Edition Addendum 2. All audits conducted during and after June 1, 2019 will be to API Spec Q1, 9th Edition Addendums 1 and 2 and conformance to all requirements in this document is mandatory.
